Strawberry Banana Lactation Smoothie
With spring in full bloom and summer just around the corner, I thought what better way to enjoy the weather than with my strawberry banana lactation smoothie recipe! This smoothie is super easy to make with just 5 simple ingredients!
Let me first say that I have been struggling with milk production, and I have been researching incessantly for recipes, ingredients, and products to help. This past week I’ve been making smoothies with Milk Dust (you can click the link to find more information), a plant based protein powder made to help support lactation and weight loss. I have been making smoothies with this powder for a week now and I have to say I really like it. It’s kind of sweet, it blends pretty smoothly, and I do believe I’ve seen an increase in my milk supply.
What You’ll Need:
8-10 oz water
2 oz yogurt (your flavor choice)
1 cup of frozen strawberries & bananas
1 scoop of Milk Dust
1/2 cup of ice
The result? A deliciously smooth and flavorful smoothie! It may take a few tries to get adjusted to the taste or to tweak the ingredients to your liking. I like a lot of ice in my smoothies, especially in warmer weather. But as with anything, tweak it to what you like! I’ve been using Activia as my yogurt of choice because that’s what we had in the fridge, and I’ve also used vanilla and strawberry flavors and both worked really well with this. You can add more strawberries or bananas, or try different fruit altogether!
Since having my son on Valentine’s Day, I have realized the value of an easy recipe with a few simple ingredients that takes a short amount of time to make. Every moment is precious with my son, and I spend my days taking care of his every need, but this smoothie is me taking care of me. So mommas- try this recipe! I’d love to hear of any lactation smoothie recipes (or any kind for that matter) that you enjoy!
